Join us tomorrow, Saturday 6 May 2017, for our annual Local & Family History Fair.
The Fair is the Swansea Branch of the Historical Association’s biggest event of the year. We have teamed up with Wales on Wheels to make it the biggest one yet!
It will run for the 7th year at the National Waterfront Museum from 11am until 4pm. All are welcome and entry is free.
There will be a number of stalls inside the museum, most dedicated to local and family history. We will be joined by old favourites as well as new exhibitors. There will be an eclectic mix covering everything from ancient to modern history.
The confirmed exhibitors include Llansamlet History Society, Dyfed Family History Society, Friends of Swansea Slip Bridge, The Egypt Centre, Legacy of Longfields and many more.
You will be able to sign up for a free copy of the Swansea University Journal, Gorffennol.
Plus, if you would like to find out more about the Historical Association make sure to stop by our stand!
At 2pm we will hold the 60 Second Show and Tell in the museum’s main gallery. Bring along an object – anything goes – talk about it for a minute, and baffle the museum’s director and curator who will try to add detail or identify the unidentifiable. Be sure to grab a seat near the front of the stage.
This year we have teamed up with Wales on Wheels – this event will include vehicles from Swansea Bus Museum, Yeoman Living History, Swansea Historic Vehicle Register, Penydarren Steam Locomotive plus more.

Come along to what promises to be a free, fun and informative day for all the family. There will be something for everyone inside and out.
